As time moves forward it is growing more aparent that human population is in conflict with the health of Earth's ecosystems. Our lifestyles as well as our recent explosion in population are taking a large toll on the planet. Scientists have concluded that many ecosystems are in decline. In fact, they have coined it as the sixth mass extinction. Without the good health of these ecosystems life as we know it would not be possible. It seems that we have fallen out of balance with the planet. Somewhere along the way we began to view Mother Earth as  an abundance of resources that were to be exploited and rarely paid for. We live on a finite planet and must develop our lifestyles accordingly. This website is created in an attempt to discover the flaws in our philsophy that have led to this unparaled dilema as well as to promote a more sustainable future.

Sustainability

Picture
Sustainability is an extremely large subject. It is often described as meeting the needs of the present without jepordizing the needs of the future. Although this is a pretty good sart, sustainability encompases much more than that. The three interrelated pillars of sustainability are social, environmental, and economic.  We must build a world that respects the natural world, reconizes all human rights, and promotes economic justice.
